This week, I really wanted to focus on fun Fourth of July recipes. But frankly, its hard to do "red white and blue" different than anyone else has already thought up. And then I was introduced to Scales Cocktail mixes, and magic happened! Maybe not firework magic, but pretty darn close. You see, John and I are always up for new things and when we first met the creators and founders of Scales Cocktails, we just got along immediately.
They were kind enough to send us a full case of their mixes so we could try them all with friends, family, pretty much anyone passing by, you know how it goes. And now, we're going to share our results with you!! I love that Scales Cocktails only have 5 calories per serving so if you're worried about "bikini season" which I hear it is right now, you should look no further.
Today, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday, I'll be giving away a bottle of the mix of the day. Today's mix? The Margarita - my personal favorite! The giveaway is open until 11:59 p.m. EST, July 8th.
1/2 cup water
3 tablespoons sugar
1 cinnamon stick
1 cup Scales Cocktail Margarita Mix
4 ounces tequila
Peel the plum and cut into slices. In a small saucepan, combine water, plum, sugar, and cinnamon stick. Let the mixture come to a boil. Let cool and remove cinnamon stick. Puree the plum mixture and strain. Add Scales Cocktail Margarita Mix and tequila. Pour into glasses and serve immediately.
